Easy Homemade Dressing Recipes

Easy Homemade Dressings

These dressings are crafted to add bold flavour and wholesome nutrition to your salads without the hidden sugars, preservatives, or unhealthy fats often found in store-bought options. Each recipe is simple to make, packed with fresh ingredients, and designed to complement your clean-eating goals during your nutrition Program.

Balsamic Dressing 
(Makes a large batch, so you can store this in your refrigerator to use throughout the week.)

  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil (preferably first cold pressed)
  • ⅓ cup aged balsamic vinegar 
  • 1 Tbs. dried parsley
  • ½ tsp. sea salt.  
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbs. honey mustard (organic if possible)
  • 1 garlic clove, passed through a garlic press or minced (optional)

Directions: Add all ingredients into a bowl & whisk until thoroughly combined - or use a Magic Bullet / Ninja blender if you have one!  Check for seasoning.

​Apple Cider Vinegar Dressing 
(You’ll want to keep a bottle of this in the fridge at all times!)

  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil (preferably first cold pressed)
  • ½ cup of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tsp. dried Onion Powder
  • 2 Tbsp. of Dijon Mustard
  • 2 garlic cloves, passed through a garlic press or minced (optional)
  • ½ tsp. Sea Salt 
  • ½ tsp. of dried Thyme
  • ½ tsp. of dried Basil
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste

Directions: Add all ingredients into a bowl & whisk until thoroughly combined -  or use a Magic Bullet / Ninja blender if you have one!  Check for seasoning.

​Homemade “Paleo” Mayo
Ingredients:
  • 2 pasteurized large eggs + 1 yolk
  • 1.5 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. kosher or sea salt (preferably Himalayan)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 small garlic clove, peeled
  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil chopped

Directions:
Combine the two oils in a small bowl and set aside.  Put the eggs, mustard, salt, and lemon juice into blender and process 10 seconds to mix. While machine is running, drop in a peeled garlic clove.  


Very slowly pour the mixed oils into blender while running.  Process until all of the oil is incorporated.
Mixture will be the consistency of mayonnaise.

Add chopped basil & stir to combine.  Refrigerate for 1 hour before using.  So good!

(Stays good in the refrigerator for about a week!)
